Day 37 Angle to Bosherston (17.1 miles, cumulative 614.8)
After starring in the role of pampered guest, I left Steph and a bag of my kit, meaning another light rucksack day.
I followed tracks to the pretty West Angle Bay, then joined a well defined path across fields, passing Rat Island and Sheep Island - I spotted neither rats nor sheep. After a few steep ups and downs I reached Freshwater West beach, where school children were taking part in a litter pick. The path then deviated from the coast to avoid the Castlemartin military firing range. A short while later I caught up with Steve again - he was in good spirits and plotting campsites for the final few days of his walk. We walked together alongside the firing range and had a close encounter with a tank, until he carried on to his campsite, while I followed the footpath back to the coast.
The last 7 miles were easy - a level, grassy track, then a lovely stroll next to the tranquil Lily ponds to reach my inn accommodation in pretty Bosherston.
