Day 28 Llangrannog to Cardigan (18.1 miles, cumulative 451.9)
After a night of little sleep, due jointly to the intense heat and the raucous sounds of Cardigan's Friday night revellers, I set out early to try and minimise the impact of the expected storms. I took the shortest route from Llangrannog to Aberporth, then rejoined the coastal path.
With a lighter rucksack and cooler temperatures, I made good progress on a fairly level stretch of the path and reached Mwnt, known for its impressive hill and secluded, sandy beach. At this point the sun disappeared and a cool breeze developed. Clouds gathered in the distance, but rain didn't seem imminent. The path turned inland across arable fields for several miles, before dropping down to the Teifi estuary, then following the river into Cardigan. I'd managed to avoid the rain! It did finally arrive shortly after my arrival, but not in the form of the anticipated thunderstorms.
