Day 26 Aberystwyth to Aberaeron (18.6 miles, cumulative 416.0)
I finally left my base for the last ten nights and headed out with my full kit again.
I caught the first train to Aberystwyth. A big shout out to #thecambriancoastrailways for such a reliable service. I've caught fifteen trains over the past ten days and, not only did they run while trains in England were on strike, but every one was on time and the conductors were friendly and helpful.
Today's walk was a tough one, probably the hardest to date, even though it wasn't the longest in distance. The first part was over steep cliffs against a strong breeze, which was physically demanding. The second part was over a flatter cliff path, but the rising temperatures and lack of breeze made progress slow. The legs felt tired, the body demanded ice cold refreshments, which weren't available en route. Eventually I reached Aberaeron, where a litre of milk, a hot shower and a snooze were much appreciated.
