Day 9 Holyhead to Four Mile Bridge (18.9 miles, cumulative 166.7)
The words ' sunny' and 'long walk' have been used almost daily in this blog, but for today also add the word 'breezy', albeit in a very welcoming sense.
My B&B host kindly gave me a lift to the Cancer Research UK superstore, where I had a prearranged photo opportunity with the team, before setting off for today's adventure.
A walk of two halves. The first half followed a rugged path over Holyhead mountain to the South Stack lighthouse. There were panoramic views out to sea in three directions and regular sightings of the ferries to and from Dublin. The second half was mainly over open moorland next to the coast, interspersed with sandy bays and multiple holiday homes.
An earlier arrival at tonight's accommodation gave me the chance to wash some clothes at last! Just hoping they'll be dry in the morning.
