Day 7 Moelfre to Cemaes Bay (17.0 miles, cumulative 127.0)

A glorious day's walking! Leaving my weighty rucksack behind at the hotel in Amlwch, I caught the local bus to the start of the walk. Within minutes I spotted my first Anglesey red squirrel, if only for a brief moment.

For a couple of hours I wandered alone in the sunshine, across rolling gorse clad hills, just a stone's throw from the sea. On returning to Amlwch I collected my rucksack and headed off for a more challenging afternoon of climbs and descents, passing countless bays and inlets and seeing a regular flow of approaching walkers. The views here are breathtaking.

I finally arrived at Cemaes Bay, my bed for the night. First impressions are that it feels a little run down, with long-closed shops and limited dining options. However, tonight is a big night - the arrival of cyclists in the annual Bristol to Cemaes in a day cycle ride. And I thought I'd walked a long way today......
